How A. Horn, Inc. can help you get more work:

Some of our management services include:

Estimating:

We provide detailed written proposals of our masonry work to our clients. We can also provide an accompanying 3D image of our masonry work, including structural details, material differences and elevation variances. This can help you in presenting your bids/proposals to owners, and help identify challenging areas on the project.

Value Engineering:

We provided Bulley and Andrews with an alternate masonry fireproofing solution that saved the client over $100,000.00 while providing a superior product with more longevity than the original design. Our team has reviewed and estimated thousands of projects over the years. Let us use our extensive knowledge and experience to propose cost saving measures to help stretch the project budget. Masonry provides an almost endless array of material sizes, textures, shapes and colors that one can choose from.

LEED Assistance:

More and more projects are being LEED certified. We have a LEED Accredited Professional - Building Design + Construction on staff that can assist you with masonry and how it can contribute to the overall energy efficiency of the project. Our company is a Sustainable Masonry Certified Contractor through the IMI (International Masonry Institute). Let us share our knowledge to help make your building more efficient and aesthetically pleasing.

Project Inspections:

We have successfully remedied multiple structures in which poor workmanship had occurred by a previous contractor. On each occasion, our first solution was adopted, and remedied these ongoing client issues. We have an ICC (International Code Council) Certified Structural Masonry Special Inspector in house that can inspect new or existing masonry construction to find any problems in workmanship or materials. We can suggest remedies for masonry problems that have arisen. We can then make the necessary corrections to any substandard situation.

Design and Build Assistance:

During design review, we provided a masonry solution for radiation sheilding over a lead alternative saving client over $500,000.Let us help you with the designing and/or modification of your project. We will suggest masonry ideas to solve design issues including fire rating requirements, load bearing needs, aesthetic desires, and energy efficiency solutions among others.

Project Planning:

Before construction begins, we can assist you with labor scheduling and sequence issues. The modular nature of masonry lends itself to a varitey of project sizes and spaces (limitiations). We can provide input on how to make you project run more efficiently, safely, and with less stress.

Technical challenge

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your firm for all the hard work and dedication to the GETCO office relocation project at 350 North Orleans. The GETCO relocation project was one of the largest tenant build-out projects in Chicago for 2011 and was one of the most technically challenging projects in the city as well. Through all of the project challenges, the performance of your firm helped to make this a highly successful project and we want to thank you for a job well done by all of those involved.
